The 17th Annual Scientific Conference of the Nigerian Infectious Diseases Society
Convened by the Nigerian Infectious Diseases Society and hosted by Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, NIDS 2026 unites clinicians, scientists, and policymakers to confront the next generation of infectious-disease threats facing Nigeria and the region.
Who We Are
The Nigerian Infectious Diseases Society brings together the country's leading physicians, researchers, and public-health professionals dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and control of infectious diseases. Each year, its Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference serves as the foremost national forum for sharing research, shaping policy, and strengthening the workforce that stands between Nigeria and the next outbreak.
Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, home to the Institute of Viral and Emergent Pathogens Control and Research (IVEPCR), is a nationally recognised centre for Lassa fever and emergent-pathogen response — making it a fitting host for a conference built around preparedness.
